One Village At A Time
Imagine one day you are praying and you clearly hear “Go to Ghana“. You cannot ignore that you heard this, and yet you don’t have the means to follow that instruction. This was how this “water journey” began. Once I decided to agree with the thought of going to Africa for the first time in my life, on a solo adventure, everything I needed was seamlessly and miraculously made available. Little did I know that this initial trip would be the first of many to Ghana. I would subsequently be known as The Water Lady… and The Borehole Project would years after be birthed.
The Borehole Project was birthed out of the cry of the people living in rural communities of Upper East region of Ghana for clean water access. The vision of the project is to be a “care conduit” for the collaboration of the local and global community to meet this basic and vital need for clean water in rural communities across Ghana first, and Africa, in perpetuity.
The mission of The Borehole Project is to join and engage global, innovative, philanthropic thought leaders, Ghanaian community leaders, university students and other stakeholders for a more collaborative effort to design, fund, and execute an iterative and sustainable model for clean water access to rural communities across the country to be adopted by other African nations for implementation throughout the year, and years to come.
